For making a stem, our group used laminating and bonding techniques. Firstly, we cut a yellow cider as size: 955 x 45 x 5(mm). After cut six of thin battens, we steam them on to bend them suitably later. Put a vinyl down on the lofting paper and prepare some clamps and wooden blocks as well for holding and bending the steamed battens. Once stemming enough, bend the timbers and fix them up with clamps.

The next day we glued them with the 'West system' which is epoxy resin and hardener(ratio is 5 : 1). We poured the epoxy into a container and put some glue powder(microfibre blend) as well. Keep stir until the glue getting sticky enough. With a brush spread the glue on the surface of each timbers and reclamp on them. We should wait for a day till all glue are dry and solid.
